Xie is a professor at the School of Mathematical Sciences of Fudan University. His research direction is algebraic geometry. 1997 graduated from the Department of Mathematics of Fudan University. In 2005, he received a doctor of science degree from the University of Tokyo. In early 2009, he returned to China to teach at the School of Mathematical Sciences of Fudan University.
