Chang 'an University is located in Xi, the capital of Shaanxi Province, directly under the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC). It is a national "world-class discipline construction university" jointly established by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Natural Resources, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and the Shaanxi Provincial People's Government, a national key construction university of "21project" and a national "985".
Selected into the "11plan", "Two Million Plan" and "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Plan" of the Ministry of Education, the National Public Postgraduate Plan for Building High-level Universities, the National College Students' Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Plan, and the National New Engineering Research and Practice Project;
Chang 'an University is a member of the alliance of high-level universities with industry characteristics and the alliance of China-Russia Jiaotong University. It is also the receiving institution of China government scholarship to study in China, the national college students' cultural quality education base, and the first batch of universities' scientific and technological achievements transformation and technology transfer bases.
In 2000, Chang 'an University was formed by the merger of Xi 'an Highway Jiaotong University, Xi 'an Engineering College and Northwest Institute of Civil Engineering and Architecture, which was founded in the early 1950s.
By the end of 2020 10, the school has a headquarters and two campuses in Weishui, and three teaching practice bases in Taibai, Liangshan and Weishui, with a campus area of 3,348.22 mu. There are 23 departments and 82 undergraduate majors. There are 9 postdoctoral research stations, 9 doctoral programs in first-class disciplines, 33 master programs in first-class disciplines and 6 national key disciplines. There are more than 2 100 full-time teachers and 4 full-time academicians.
