Xidian university, referred to as "Xidian" or "Xijun Power", is located in Xi City, Shaanxi Province. It is a university directly under the central government and the Ministry of Education. It is a national key university, jointly established by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the National Bureau of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense and China Electronics Technology Group Corporation.

It ranks among the national "double-class" and "2 1 1 project", and is selected as "201plan" and "985 engineering advantage discipline innovation platform". It is one of the earliest two key military academies for national defense industry in China and one of the graduate schools approved by the Ministry of Education.

It has been selected into National Integrated Circuit Talent Training Base, Integrated Research Platform of Ministry of Education, World-class Network Security College, National Model Microelectronics College, China Artificial Intelligence Education Association and National Model Software College.

The school was formerly the Broadcasting School of the Central Military Commission, 193 1 was born in Ruijin, Jiangxi. It has experienced such historical periods as Radio School of the Central Military Commission, Telecommunication Engineering College of North China Military Region, Engineering School of China People's Revolutionary Military Commission and Communication Engineering College of China People's Liberation Army.

1958 moved to Xi 'an. 1966, transformed into a local organizational system and renamed Northwest Institute of Telecommunications Engineering; 1988 changed its name to xidian university. The school has been subordinate to the Central Military Commission, the National Defense Science, Technology and Industry Committee, the Sixth Machinery Department, the Fourth Machinery Department, the Ministry of Electronics Industry, the Ministry of Machinery and Electronics, and the Ministry of Information Industry, and was placed under the management of the Ministry of Education in 2000.
