The law school of Central South University was formerly the law department of Central South Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, which was founded in 1952. After many adjustments and developments, it was officially renamed Central South University Law School in 2000. At present, the college has three levels of degree authorization points: bachelor of law, master of law (including master of law) and doctor of law, covering legal theory, constitution and administrative law, criminal law, civil and commercial law, economic law, environmental and resource protection law, international law, procedural law and other disciplines. The Law School of Central South University aims at cultivating legal talents with both ability and political integrity, and pays attention to the cultivation of students' comprehensive quality and practical ability. The college has a high-level faculty, among which professors and associate professors account for more than 80% of the total teachers, and teachers with doctoral degrees account for more than 90% of the total teachers.
