Kanazawa University was founded in 1862 and provides university education in 1949. The history of the school can be traced back to Jiahefan Vaccination Institute 1862. Now Kanazawa University is a comprehensive university with a new system based on the merger of Ishikawa Normal University, Kanazawa Medical University, the fourth institution of higher learning and Kanazawa Institute of Technology in 1949.
