Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, formerly known as Shanghai College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, was founded in 1956. It is one of the first four universities of traditional Chinese medicine established in China after the birth of New China, and it is also the only university with key medical characteristics in Shanghai.
1993 Shanghai College of Traditional Chinese Medicine was renamed "Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine" and merged with the former Shanghai Medical College in 2000. In 2003, the school moved to Zhangjiang High-tech Park in Pudong, which has become an important part of Zhangjiang Medicine Valley.
By the end of 20 13, 1 1, the school has 29 undergraduate and specialist majors (directions), including 3 first-class doctoral programs in traditional Chinese medicine, integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine and traditional Chinese medicine, 2 doctoral programs in disciplines 15, 23 master programs and 3 post-doctoral mobile stations. The doctoral degree awarding program covers all disciplines of traditional Chinese medicine. There are 14 secondary colleges, departments and centers, 3 directly affiliated hospitals, 2 non-directly affiliated hospitals, 20 affiliated and * * * established research institutes, and 13 research centers.

Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine was founded on 1958. 1992 Approved by the State Education Commission, China International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine was added. In 2006, with the approval of the Ministry of Education and the Tianjin Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, it was officially renamed Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
