The campus covers an area of 26 13 mu, with a school building area of 630,000 square meters. It enrolls students for 3 1 provinces and regions nationwide, with more than 0.5 million full-time students/kloc-0, of which ethnic minority students account for 27%.

Tarim University has 1 1 colleges (College of Plant Science, College of Animal Science, College of Life Sciences, College of Water Conservancy and Architecture Engineering, College of Mechanical Electrification Engineering, College of Information Engineering, College of Economics and Management, College of Humanities, College of History and Philosophy, College of Continuing Education and College of Vocational Technology) and 58 undergraduate majors.

Tarim University has three provincial-level (engineering) laboratories (Southern Xinjiang Characteristic Fruit Tree Production Engineering Laboratory, Xinjiang Corps Southern Xinjiang Chemical Resources Utilization Engineering Laboratory, Xinjiang Corps Tarim Animal Disease Diagnosis and Prevention Engineering Laboratory) and three experimental stations of the Ministry of Agriculture (Northwest Agricultural Microbial Resources Utilization Experimental Station of the Ministry of Agriculture, Alar Agricultural Pest Scientific Observation Experimental Station of the Ministry of Agriculture, and Agricultural Product Quality and Safety Risk Assessment Experimental Station of the Ministry of Agriculture).
