The School of Business Administration of Dongbei University of Finance and Economics was established in May, 1994. It was formed by the merger of the former Department of Trade and Economics, the Department of Material Management and the Department of Industrial Economics. Its predecessor can be traced back to the Department of Economy and Trade and the Department of Planning and Statistics of 1952. The School of Business Administration is the earliest full-time college established by Dongbei University of Finance and Economics, and it is also one of the earliest schools of business administration established in China. Since the establishment of the College, relying on the overall advantages of the economic management discipline of Dongbei University of Finance and Economics, while inheriting the advantages of traditional disciplines, it has continuously developed emerging majors. There are four teaching and research levels: undergraduate, master, doctor and postdoctoral. There are four undergraduate majors: business administration, marketing, human resource management and logistics management. It also has a master's degree in business administration, a doctor's degree and a postdoctoral mobile station.

At present, the college has two doctoral programs and postdoctoral mobile stations in business administration under the first-class discipline category of business administration, and four master programs and undergraduate majors in business administration, marketing, human resource management and logistics management, among which three majors rank in the top 5% of the national undergraduate majors (in 2008), and business administration is a national specialty.

The Surrey International College of Dongbei University of Finance and Economics was founded by Dongbei University of Finance and Economics and the University of Surrey in the United Kingdom. Approved by the Ministry of Education in August, 2007, it has the qualification to award bachelor's and master's degrees to Dongbei University of Finance and Economics and the University of Surrey in the UK. The college is located in the beautiful coastal city of Dalian, located in the main campus of Dongbei University of Finance and Economics, and currently has more than 800 students/kloc-0.

The college offers two undergraduate majors (direction) of business administration (transnational operation direction) and tourism management (leisure and service management direction), and two postgraduate majors (direction) of enterprise management (transnational operation direction) and tourism management (leisure and service management direction). With the mission of "paying equal attention to humanistic spirit and professional quality, cultivating management talents with global vision and international competitiveness, and providing intellectual support for enterprise management practice", the college has built a talent training model according to the international standards of business schools.
