Xiamen University was founded in 192 1 by Mr. Chen Jiageng, a famous patriotic overseas Chinese leader. It is a high-level comprehensive university of "2 1 1 Project" and "985 Project", which is a national key construction and has a wide influence in the world. The school faces the sea with its back to the mountain, with charming scenery and high degree of internationalization. It has established inter-school cooperative relations with more than 70 universities in Britain, the United States, Japan, France, Russia, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, with first-class campuses and beautiful living and working environment. This is an ideal institution for academic research. Architectural and civil engineering College of Xiamen University was established in April 2004 on the basis of the original architecture department, and now it has architecture department, civil engineering department and urban planning department. There are three undergraduate majors in architecture, civil engineering and urban planning, three master's programs in architecture, civil engineering and mechanics, and two master's programs in urban and regional planning. At the same time, it has two cross doctoral sites in two disciplines, namely, architectural cultural heritage and urban construction, and monitoring and protection of architectural environment. Architectural and civil engineering is a "provincial key discipline" in Fujian province, and the experimental teaching center of civil engineering is a "experimental teaching demonstration center of Fujian universities". Architecture major was selected as the third batch of "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Plan" by the Ministry of Education, and the architectural postgraduate education and innovation base was rated as the training project of "Fujian Postgraduate Education and Innovation Base". The architecture major has passed the "National Education Evaluation of Architecture Major in Colleges and Universities" by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development for many times, and has become the only unit in China that has the right to award both a bachelor's degree in architecture and a master's degree in architecture.
