Since human civilization, medicine has been closely related to people's lives. Can maintain the human body, when the body is damaged, try to save as much as possible. Shennong tasted all kinds of herbs in ancient times, and now generations of people follow their predecessors and devote themselves to medical research. Zhang, known as the "God of Medicine", is such a great woman.
First, the indissoluble bond with Chinese medicine.
1934, Zhang was born in Jiangyin City, Jiangsu Province. "Guizi falls in the moon, and the sky is floating outside." It coincided with the season when osmanthus was in full bloom. Zhang's parents are probably moved by this beautiful scenery. The name given to their daughter also has the word "osmanthus", which also represents auspiciousness and smoothness.
Zhang's study career went smoothly, and 1954 was successfully admitted to Nanjing Pharmaceutical University, which is now China Pharmaceutical University. Zhang has always dreamed of working in a hospital and often imagined that he would make great achievements in the hospital in the future. She has been studying western medicine theory hard, hoping to give herself more help. Unexpectedly, after graduation, Zhang was assigned to work in Tianjin College of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
She majored in western medicine at the university. When she faced hundreds of Chinese herbal medicines for the first time, she was like a cat tangled in a mess and had no clue. But she didn't give up easily because of her tenacity and perseverance. Knowing nothing about Chinese medicine, she forced herself to explore bit by bit, and later, she was deeply addicted to it.
Second, brains and talents.
Young people who have just graduated always have fantastic ideas and dare to think and do at the same time, and Zhang is no exception. Her first task in the Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine is to learn the technique of boiling black plaster. This technology seems to be easy, but it is not only time-consuming and laborious to operate, but also prone to accidents. It is common to get scalded and blistered because of inexperience, and it is even more dangerous to accidentally fall into the pot.
When Zhang saw this scene, she used her brains to come up with a solution. Finally, she bought a pot from her own pocket. The biggest difference between this pot and the pot commonly used in the research institute is that it can display the temperature! With this pot, everyone can easily get the key to boiling black plaster: the temperature is as high as 3 15℃.
In addition to the discovery of this critical temperature, Zhang brought more changes to traditional Chinese herbal medicine in the following days. When studying the traditional processing technology of bitter almond, she followed the ancient processing methods and made cakes by deoiling in view of the shortcomings of the traditional processing technology. This method not only retains the efficacy, but also achieves the effect of saving medicinal materials and reducing the dosage, which makes the processing level of Chinese herbal medicines reach a new level.
In the early 1960s, Zhang also screened a variety of Chinese herbal medicines for mumps virus, which laid a solid foundation for Banlangen granules to become the first choice for the public in the future. With the passage of time, in the late 1980s, Zhang, who was in his fifties, still had advanced ideas. She took the lead in preparing Huoxiang Zhengqi Water Soft Capsule by separation, extraction and dispersion emulsification technology, which solved the problem that drivers, women, children and other people who were not suitable for drinking could not take the traditional compound preparation Huoxiang Zhengqi Water, but these were not her most important achievements.
Third, the mother of quick-acting jiuxin pills
Zhang's really important contribution is that she has developed a quick-acting heart-saving pill, which can save thousands of lives. After she developed the quick-acting pill, she has been in obscurity, and no one knows her efforts to develop pills.
Nitroglycerin was always the first choice to treat angina pectoris. Although it is effective and easy to use, its defects are also obvious, because the components are too single, it is easy to form drug resistance, and once it is improperly preserved, it is easy to fail. In order to develop drugs that can replace nitroglycerin, Zhang devoted all his thoughts to quick-acting jiuxin pills.
For decades, Zhang has never given up. She and her colleagues have been immersed in research, rummaging through all the ancient books that can be found, constantly screening, researching, separating, and then conducting clinical trials. Zhang, who was born in western medicine, certainly didn't expect that he would fully develop Chinese medicine. Many things happen. After more than 20 years, it finally brought her the light of success. She successfully developed a better medicine than nitroglycerin-Suxiao Jiuxin Pill.
It is said that there was an episode in the development process. When conducting animal experiments, the quick-acting Jiuxin Pill did not produce any obvious effect within ten minutes. Zhang felt that it was over at that time, and so many years were wasted. However, after checking the data, it was not that the drug didn't work, but that the effect was not observed because of negligence. Zhang and her colleagues are relieved.
Fourth, the wind is light and the clouds are light.
After developing quick-acting jiuxin pills, Zhang visited the University of Antwerp in Belgium and participated in the development of new drugs at that time. Before going abroad, Zhang assured the factory director that he would definitely return to China in a year and a half. A year and a half passed quickly, and the Belgian side tried its best to retain Zhang, hoping that she could stay and continue her research and promised generous treatment conditions. If she insists on returning to China, the previous research has nothing to do with her. In this case, Zhang resolutely returned to China.
Quick-acting Jiuxin Pills have been widely used since they came out and played an important role in saving lives. It stands to reason that Zhang, as the developer of quick-acting jiuxin pills, should be famous for it, but the fact is that she didn't get these due honors at that time.
Not only that, she is also restricted by various aspects: she can't publish papers, she can't go abroad, and she can't reunite with her husband who is far away from home. The formula of Quick-acting Jiuxin Pills is classified as a secret and permanently sealed by the state, so some people with ulterior motives suspect that Quick-acting Jiuxin Pills are western medicine in the cloak of Chinese medicine. Endless doubts still exist, but Zhang didn't care and still insisted on doing TCM research.
Strictly speaking, Zhang's contribution is no less than that of Tu Youyou, a contemporary Nobel Prize winner in medicine. However, she was not recognized and respected by everyone, but was questioned and reviled by people with a heart. But she didn't care. She remained indifferent to the water, turned a deaf ear to things outside the window, and devoted herself wholeheartedly to the cause of traditional Chinese medicine that she loved.
After studying the quick-acting jiuxin pills, Zhang also developed famous drugs such as Chuanbei loquat dropping pills, Huashan Shen dropping pills and Wuji Baifeng tablets. Now in her eighties, she is still active in the field of scientific research, giving everything to young people engaged in scientific research and going to universities for the aged for further study. Living in her old body seems to be the soul of a young man.
"Both young and old people should have clear life goals at this stage. With goals and objectives, you will continue to gain happiness in the process of self-transcendence and hard work. " This is what Zhang said. Now it seems that this is also the best portrayal of her own life. She can pursue what she wants all her life, regardless of gain or loss. Presumably life is the best.
