Comprehensive historical research is generally the following seven universities.

① Peking University.

The department also has research institutions such as European Studies Center, World Modernization Research Center, Greek Studies Center, Northeast Asia Research Center, Chinese and Foreign Women's Issues Research Center, Modern Historical Materials Research Center, Sino-foreign Relations History Research Center, Sun Yat-sen Thought International Research Center, Contemporary Corporate Culture Research Center, Ming and Qing History Research Center, Historical and Cultural Resources Research Center, Chinese and Foreign Historical and Cultural Exchange Center, and Talent Research Institute.

Ancient history of China: the strength is absolutely powerful. From pre-Qin to Ming and Qing dynasties, each generation was very strong, but the most prominent ones were Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties, Sui and Tang Dynasties. There are not only Zhou Yiliang, Tian Yuqing, Wu Zongguo and other doyen, but also a number of rising stars such as Yan Buke and Rong Xinjiang. Of course, after Zhu joined, he was ahead of Qin Fang, and his strength should not be underestimated.

World history: it is also an academic hall, among which the most powerful are the medieval history of the world and the modern history of Europe and America. Of course, students who are willing to accept the challenge can choose the process of world modernization to study this direction, which is definitely a good topic with both difficulties and opportunities.

Modern History of China: This is a relatively weak part of Peking University, but there are also many famous figures like Mao Haijian. Moreover, the good distribution prospect of this major, coupled with the brand of Peking University, is believed to be a big temptation for every candidate.

(2) Nankai University

There are eight two disciplines in the History College. The whole hospital has under its jurisdiction the departments of history, world history, cultural relics museum, history research institute, China Modern History Research Institute, Ancient Books Culture Research Center, Japanese History Research Center, American Historical and Cultural Research Center and Latin American Research Center. There are several teaching and research departments and laboratories under departments, research institutes and centers.

The world history major of Nankai University covers a wide range of research fields, especially in the four research directions of world ancient medieval history (including Byzantine studies), American history, Japanese history and Latin American history, which enjoys a high reputation at home and has a great influence internationally. To give a simple example: among the young scholars who have received doctoral degrees in American history in the last two sessions, four have published doctoral theses in English in the United States, which has had a great influence on American historians. At present, this is the only research institution of world history in China. It can be said that the discipline of world history in Nankai University covers almost all directions from dynastic history to regional and ethnic history.

World ancient medieval history: involves the research direction of ancient Greek and Roman history, Byzantine history, Christian history and Arab Islamic civilization history. The subject of ancient Greek and Roman history occupies an important position in China. Mr. Wang Dunshu, the academic leader, is the chairman of the World Medieval History Research Association, a closed disciple (who was as famous as Chen and other masters in Tsinghua University before liberation) and an authority on Roman history in China. Byzantine studies are second to none in China. Professor Ha Quanan mainly directs the research direction of Arab history, but in recent years he has gradually turned to the comparative study of modernization in the Middle East, especially in Iran, Egypt and Saudi Arabia. American History: Mr. Yang, one of the pioneers of American history in China (1participated in the establishment of the China American History Research Association and served as vice president in the early 1980s), who has been in charge of Nankai University for more than 40 years. The American history major is located in the American Center for Historical and Cultural Studies. Professor Li Jianming, the current director, is the president of the American Historical Research Association. He is a recognized authority on American history in China, mainly engaged in the study of early American history, American race relations history and American historiography history. Professor Han Tie came to Nankai University from abroad in 2002. He once taught at Wuhan University, another important research center of American history in China, and later obtained a doctorate in the United States, and settled in Canada, mainly engaged in the research of American economic history and American legal history. Other research directions of American history: American diplomatic history, Sino-US relations history, American constitutional history, Canadian history, etc. In addition, in 2005, the American Center will enroll graduate students in American studies, which is the only doctoral and master's program in American studies in China. A comprehensive study of contemporary America will become a new growth point in the construction of American central disciplines.

Japanese history: The discipline of Japanese history was founded in 1964, and has undergone great changes from the Japanese history research room to the Japanese research center and then to the Japanese research institute. Now, Japan Institute has become a comprehensive "Japanese Studies" research institution integrating Japanese history, Japanese economy, Japanese politics and international relations. Several doctoral supervisors in this research direction are all vice-chairmen of China Japanese History Research Association, and their comprehensive strength is first-class in China. Every year, a considerable proportion of graduate students get the opportunity to complete their degrees in Japanese universities. One thing to note: Japanese history subjects have high requirements for Japanese, thinking that Japanese is the only foreign language exam. Although English candidates were enrolled in 2005, compared with Japanese candidates, they are at a disadvantage in admission and future study.

Latin American history: Latin American history was also born in 1964, and the Latin American Studies Center was established in 1994, becoming the only research institution that coordinated the national Latin American history research under the guidance of the Ministry of Education. Professor Hong is the president of the Latin American History Research Association, and Director Wang Xiaode is the vice president. Needless to say, the research strength of Latin American history is unparalleled in China (of course, when it comes to contemporary Latin American studies, the Latin American Institute of the China Academy of Social Sciences is also very strong, mainly recruiting candidates under the disciplines of international relations and world economy). Nankai Latin American history recruits English candidates. Candidates who can't speak Spanish and Portuguese don't have to worry. In recent years, all the Latin American history candidates admitted are English candidates, and Spanish learning is a short-term (one year or so) intensive training for graduate students. The main research fields of Latin American history: Latin American political and economic integration, the relationship between the United States and Latin America, etc.

(3) Beijing Normal University

There are 8 two disciplines, 6 doctoral programs, 8 master programs, 2 1 doctoral supervisor, and 2 1 master supervisor.

The ancient history of China is a national key discipline, with famous scholars such as He Ziquan, Li Hu and Chao Fulin. It has great influence in the fields of pre-Qin history, Qin and Han history, Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties history, Sui, Tang and Five Dynasties history, Song and Yuan history, Ming and Qing history, China ancient social and cultural history, China ancient economic history and China national history.

Personally, I think the ancient history of Normal University is quite strong. 2 1 among the teachers, there are 20 doctoral supervisors and professors. It is a national key discipline and postdoctoral mobile station, among which it is famous for its social history in pre-Qin, Ming and Qing dynasties, such as Mr. He Ziquan, who studies the social history of Qin, Han, Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties.

Modern Normal University is also good, with famous scholars such as Gong Shuduo and Wang Zhilin, who have great influence in the research fields of modern political and ideological history, cultural history, social history, economic history and foreign relations history in China.

The world history of Normal University is slightly weak, but there are also famous scholars such as Liu Jiahe, who have great influence in the fields of ancient Greek and Roman history, western historiography, comparison of ancient Chinese and foreign history, European medieval history, western modern ideological history, modern international relations history, American history, British history, Russian history and so on.

(4) Renmin University

The College of History has the Department of History and the Institute of Qing History.

The history major of the History Department is a first-class discipline, and all eight subordinate two disciplines were established. At present, there are 8 master's programs, and 6 other 2 disciplines have doctoral programs except historical geography and archaeology. The ancient history of China is a national key discipline with strong teachers.

At present, the Institute of Qing History has six master's programs and six doctoral programs, including ancient history of China, modern history of China, specialized history, historical philology, historical geography, historical theory and historiography.

(5) Sun Yat-sen University

There are relatively complete disciplines. In terms of academic research, the Department of History of Sun Yat-sen University has established some research institutes such as Modern China Research Center, Historical Anthropology Research Center, Sun Yat-sen Research Institute, and Religious Culture Research Institute. Historical Anthropology Research Center is the key research base of humanities and social sciences of the Ministry of Education. Its major, Modern History of China, is a national key discipline!

(6) Xiamen University

At present, the Department of History has the right to award doctoral degrees in the first-class discipline of history, three doctoral degree awarding points in two disciplines, eight master degree awarding points and 1 bachelor degree awarding points (covering two undergraduate majors of history and archaeology). The socio-economic history of China in Xiamen University was rated as a national key discipline.

(7) Wuhan University

It has the right to award doctoral degrees in the first-class discipline of history, a post-doctoral mobile station of history, a national key discipline (ancient history of China) and a national key research base of humanities and social sciences.
