Human anatomy is the most distinctive basic course in medical colleges. Its task is to teach and study the morphological structure of normal human body and its occurrence and development law. Through all aspects of teaching, students are focused on mastering the basic knowledge, theory and skills of human anatomy, laying a foundation for learning other basic medical courses and clinical courses. This teaching and research section was developed from the former Sichuan Medical College and the Human Anatomy Teaching and Research Section of West China Medical University. 1978 was approved as a master's degree, and 1986 was awarded as a doctor's degree, which trained a large number of talents for the field of anatomy in China.
The room is for graduate students, five-year, seven-year and eight-year undergraduates, as well as overseas students at different levels; Students majoring in clinical medicine, stomatology, preventive medicine, pharmacy, nursing, etc. have offered more than ten levels of courses such as anatomy-ⅰ, anatomy-ⅱ, systematic anatomy-ⅰ, systematic anatomy-ⅲ, human morphology module-ⅰ, human morphology module-ⅱ, sectional anatomy and neuroanatomy. In the process of teaching, we adhere to the teaching method of students' own anatomical specimens and integrate theory with practice, which has well cultivated students' practical ability. This teaching method based on on-the-spot anatomy in our room won the second prize of provincial excellent teaching achievement, and the course of human anatomy was rated as a top-quality course in Sichuan Province in 2005.
Our laboratory has taken the lead in developing the applied research of sectional anatomy in China. Among them, the research on "retroperitoneal space" and "pelvic fascia space" won the third prize of national scientific and technological progress, and the application research of "human model" won the national invention award. With the continuous development of life science and modern medical research methods, the research work in our laboratory is no longer limited to the traditional morphological field. In addition to clinical applied anatomy, our laboratory is carrying out in-depth research on the molecular mechanism of tumor resistance and metastasis and the directional differentiation of stem cells, and has successively obtained financial support from the National Natural Science Foundation, the Doctoral Program Fund of the Ministry of Education, the Scientific Research Fund of the Ministry of Health, the Sichuan Science and Technology Commission Fund and the China Merchants Bank Fund. In 2000, our laboratory set up a research center for stem cell application, and the research center was approved as a key laboratory in Sichuan Province the following year.

The research focus of our laboratory is neurobiology, especially spinal cord injury and repair, neuroendocrinology, neuroimmunology and other fields. At present, the main research directions of our laboratory are: the study of nerve injury and nerve plasticity, the study of neuroimmune regulation mechanism, the relationship between diabetes and nervous system, and the discussion of the causes and mechanisms of sialic acid and its mediated immune effects in human reproductive physiology and pathology. He has successively undertaken the National Natural Science Foundation 15 project, 4 doctoral programs of the State Education Commission, 2 international cooperation funds of the Ministry of Education, 5 85 key research projects 1, CMB funds, 8 provincial funds, 9 school funds and many cooperative projects, and won more than 2 million yuan (USD 1.75 million). The original name of our laboratory is the Department of Tissue Embryology. Our laboratory is one of the departments of the College of Basic Medicine and Forensic Medicine, and enjoys a high reputation among domestic counterparts. The late Professor Lu Zhenshan was one of the famous neuroanatomists in China and trained the first batch of doctors in the field of neurohistology for the former West China University of Medical Sciences. Subsequently, doctoral tutors Professor Wu and Professor Ou Kequn and part-time doctoral tutors wished Professor Peter to continue to lead the teaching and research section and trained a large number of professional senior researchers for related majors in China. Lu Zhenshan, Wu, Ou Kequn, Cao Gaoyuan, Bao Ziran, Zhang Wei successively served as the director of the teaching and research section. The current director is Professor Zhou Xue. Department of biochemistry and molecular biology
Biochemistry course was founded in the founding period of West China Union Medical College. 19 10, Huaxi xiehe medical college was established in Bashan, Huaxi, Chengdu, Sichuan by five churches from Britain, the United States and Canada, and has successively established liberal arts, science, medicine, dentistry, teaching and corresponding departments. The Department of Biochemistry of West China Union Medical College was established under this historical background. The first dean was Dr. Cornier of Canada. Later, it gradually developed under the leadership of Professor Lantianhe, a pioneer and famous biochemist in the field of biochemistry in China. Professor Lantianhe studied in the United States in his early years and obtained a doctorate in biochemistry. He was a professor of biochemistry at the University of Rochester in new york, a professor of biochemistry at the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom, and a member of the New York Academy of Sciences in the United States. 1947 After returning to China, the first biochemical research institute in China was established on the basis of the Department of Biochemistry, School of Medicine, West China United University, which was approved by the central government at that time and published in the newspaper. On the basis of the development history of West China Concord University, private West China Concord University and West China University, Sichuan Medical College was established. The former Institute of Biochemistry was also cancelled, leaving some staff to set up the Biochemistry Teaching and Research Section of Sichuan Medical College, and other academic backbones were transferred to other universities or research institutes in China to help the establishment or construction of these units. Later, these academic backbones became the academic leaders and construction backbones of these units and also became influential scientists. This course has not only made its own contribution to the development of higher education and biochemistry in New China, but also developed vigorously, becoming an influential biochemical academic institution and one of the first authorized disciplines for doctoral and master's degrees in China. Pharmacology teaching and research department
Department of Pharmacology and Pharmacology, School of Basic Medicine and Forensic Medicine, West China Medical Center, Sichuan University (formerly Department of Pharmacology, West China Medical University) was established in 1953, and has been engaged in teaching and scientific research of pharmacology. He has made outstanding contributions to the research of chemotherapy drugs such as antibiotics. In the past five years, our laboratory has undertaken three natural science foundation projects, one of which is the 973 project, which has studied more than 60 drugs and preparations that have been identified and put into production, making great contributions to the development of chemotherapy drugs and basic theoretical research in China. In 1950s, Professor Wang Zhengyi, a famous parasitologist in China, served as the director of the teaching and research section of parasitology. In the 1980s and 1990s, there appeared a famous academic leader (Professor Hu Xiaosu) and a scientific research echelon combining the old with the young. In view of the development direction of international parasitology research, our laboratory focused on the molecular research of some parasites on the basis of the original research, and achieved gratifying results, and won the third prize of 1998 National Science and Technology Progress Award and several provincial and municipal science and technology progress awards. Molecular immunology and molecular biology of Leishmania donovani, Plasmodium vivax, Trichinella spiralis, Paragonimus and Toxoplasma canis were studied. The main scientific research results are as follows: ① In the study of monoclonal antibodies against Leishmania donovani, the screened high-quality monoclonal antibodies have been successfully applied to detect circulating antigens in patients' serum, providing a new diagnostic technique for the diagnosis and curative effect evaluation of kala-azar, which is easy to be accepted by patients and has specificity, sensitivity and repeatability. ② In the study of monoclonal antibodies against Plasmodium vivax erythrocytic stage, we screened out monoclonal antibodies that can inhibit gametophyte infectivity and its development in mosquitoes, which played a certain role in preparing gametophyte vaccine and blocking the spread of Plasmodium vivax. ③ By studying the molecular biology of different strains of Leishmania in China, the molecular biological characteristics of Leishmania donovani isolated from plain epidemic areas, hilly epidemic areas and desert epidemic areas in China were revealed for the first time, and the differences of L.D. leading to different types of kala-azar were found from the DNA level. ④ PCR is used for identification of kala-azar host and diagnosis of difficult cases. The construction and protection of nucleic acid vaccine for visceral leishmaniasis were studied. ⑤ Using nested PCR system to diagnose and identify human plasmodium infection. The system is specific, sensitive, stable and simple, and has practical application value for malaria diagnosis, large-scale epidemiological research and epidemic monitoring.

At present, our hospital ranks fifth in pathogenic biology in China. We create a harmonious and relaxed environment in the teaching and research section, enliven the academic atmosphere and strengthen academic exchanges. Associate Professor Wang Yajing's research team is studying the molecular biology of Trichomonas vaginalis, cloning and sequencing the ferredoxin gene, hydrogenosome adenylate kinase gene and adhesion protein 33 gene of Trichomonas vaginalis, and expressing the proteins in Escherichia coli. In cooperation with Nagoya University in Japan, the Plasmodium Research Group in Liu Jiaoshou undertook the project of the Toyota Foundation of Japan on the epidemiological investigation of plasmodium variants in Southeast Asia. The investigation and identification of plasmodium species in some malaria endemic areas in southwest China have been completed. In the future, the investigation of plasmodium species in southwest China will be completed and the diagnostic map of plasmodium will be made. The diagnosis of malaria is completed by computer, which improves the diagnosis efficiency. Professor Chen Jianping's research team conducted a series of studies on the construction of Legionella vaccine. At present, the chimeric genetic engineering bivalent nucleic acid vaccine of Legionella pneumophila mip gene and Vibrio cholerae CT-B gene is being constructed, and its immune protection is being studied. At the same time, Legionella pneumophila omps-flA fusion gene nucleic acid vaccine and lvga-HspA fusion gene nucleic acid vaccine are also under construction. At present, the immunogenicity and immune protection indexes of these two vaccines are being tested and evaluated. The construction of the vaccine is expected to provide effective defense measures for Legionella, one of the pathogens of SARS. In view of the division of three endemic areas of kala-azar in China (plain type, desert type and hilly type), we analyzed the ribosome gene spacer and sequenced the L.D. strains in each endemic area, which provided a theoretical basis for dividing the three endemic areas at the gene level.
