Zheng Shiling 65438-0965 graduated from Tongji University with a bachelor's degree in architecture.
Zheng Shiling was awarded the highest honorary knighthood in Italy.
As early as many years ago, Professor Zheng Shiling, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, was famous abroad and won many honors at home and abroad, but it was the first time to win the Knight Medal. The Knight Medal is a national honor, and Zheng Shiling's honorary "certificate" was also signed by the Italian President and Foreign Minister.
Zheng Shiling was a visiting scholar at the School of Architecture of the University of Florence on 1984- 1986. Before going abroad, he had intended to go to Germany. After strengthening his German for a year, he finally got the quota of going abroad in Italy by mistake. It was this unexpected fate that made him have an indissoluble bond with Italy. During his time in Italy, he visited almost every city in this country. Every weekend, he participates in various activities with the "buddies" of the Italian-Chinese Friendship Association in Florence.
"What impressed me most was the friendliness of Italians to China people." Zheng Shiling recalled that in the winter of 1985, he went to the University of Naples to give a lecture and ran to the school gate and locked the door. It turned out that the students went on strike and the teachers were not allowed in. However, when the gatekeepers learned that they were from China, they made an exception and opened the door. Zheng Shiling became the only teacher who taught that day.
After returning to China, Zheng Shiling has been committed to cultural exchanges between China and Italy. Many famous Italian professors came to Shanghai to teach students through his recommendation. The planning of pujiang town, one of the "one city and nine towns", was designed by his old friend Gregory Gaudi. In addition, Professor Us Latina, an expert in historical protection, visited Shanghai before his death to give advice on protecting the source of the beach. At the same time, in order to facilitate academic exchanges between China and Italy, the School of Architecture of the University of Rome set up a foreign affairs office and sent graduate students to study in China.
