School of Computer Science and Technology of Suzhou University, founded in 1984, is one of the earlier computer science and technology departments in Jiangsu Province. In the course of more than 20 years' construction, the college has always adhered to the guiding ideology of "serving the local economy", taking discipline construction as the leading factor, and promoted the development of the college in the aspects of teaching staff construction, scientific research and teaching management.

By the academic year of 20 12, the college has had a postdoctoral research station of computer science and technology, two first-class doctoral programs of computer science and technology and software engineering, three first-class master programs of computer science and technology, software engineering, management science and engineering, and two master programs of computer technology and software engineering. At the same time, the college has the key discipline of "Computer Application Technology" and the key laboratory of "Computer Information Processing Technology" in Jiangsu Province.

"New technology of computer information processing" is the key construction subject of "2 1 1 engineering" in our school. By the 20 12 academic year, the college has set up six undergraduate majors (directions): computer science and technology, information management and information system, software engineering, network engineering and software engineering (training direction of embedded software talents) and internet of things engineering. Among them, four undergraduate majors (computer science and technology, software engineering, network engineering and Internet of Things engineering) are key majors in Jiangsu Province, and software engineering major is a national professional construction site.

At the same time, it is a major of excellent engineer education and training program of the Ministry of Education, and the major of Internet of Things Engineering is the first batch of strategic emerging industries related majors in China. The college also has computer science and technology, self-taught software engineering and other continuing education majors. In 2008, there were 24 doctoral students, 308 master students, 320 teachers and engineering masters, and 4 full-time undergraduates11.

The college has a strong faculty and a reasonable structure. Faculty 153, including full-time teachers 1 13, including doctoral tutor 12, postgraduate tutor 37, postgraduate tutor 2, professor 22 and associate professor 4 1 person (including senior engineer and associate professor). At the same time, the college also hired 15 famous scholars at home and abroad as part-time professors.

Full-time teachers publish more than 200 papers in core journals and academic conferences at home and abroad every year, and undertake more than 80 scientific research projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation, the doctoral program special fund of the Ministry of Education, and the Jiangsu Natural Science Foundation, and more than 70 horizontal projects.
