Suzhou University School of Medicine is at the upper-middle level, basic medicine is at the upstream level, and clinical medicine is at the middle level. The college used to be Suzhou Medical College, and later went to Suzhou University, which is regarded as an early batch of medical schools that obtained doctoral degrees.

Suzhou Medical College of Soochow University (Suzhou University) was founded in March of 19 12, and its predecessor was the private Nantong Medical College founded by Zhang Jian and Zhang Peng.
It was renamed as private Nantong Medical University (1927), private Nantong University Medical College (1928), private Nantong College Medical College (1930), national Jiangsu Medical College (1938 merged with Jiangsu Medical and Political College) and private Nantong College Medical College (/kloc-0)
1949- 1957 was renamed as Subei Medical College (1952) and Nantong Medical College (1956) after the adjustment of national departments. 65438-0957 Nantong Medical College moved to Suzhou as a whole to meet the needs of the construction and development of medical colleges, and was renamed Suzhou Medical College.
At the end of 1962, with the approval of the State Council, it was placed under the Second Ministry of Machinery Industry (later changed to the Ministry of Nuclear Industry and the National Nuclear Corporation). In April, 2000, Suzhou Medical College merged into Suzhou University and became the Medical College of Suzhou University.
