Yucai College of Southwest Normal University, namely Xingzhi Yucai College of Southwest Normal University, was jointly founded by Southwest Normal University and Chongqing Lyon Industrial Co., Ltd. in May 2000 and officially approved by the Ministry of Education in March 2003. There are eight secondary departments, including the School of Literature and Journalism, the School of Economics and Political Science and Law, the Department of Foreign Languages and Literature, the Department of Engineering, the Department of Management, the Teana Film and Television Art Institute, the Academy of Fine Arts and the Department of Music, offering 28 undergraduate majors and 28 specialist majors.

Yucai College of Southwest University was established in May 2000, co-founded by Southwest University and Chongqing Lyon Industrial Co., Ltd. In March 2003, it was approved by the Ministry of Education as an independent college with full-time undergraduate level. There are 12 secondary colleges (departments) including College of Literature and Journalism, School of Law, School of Business, School of Foreign Languages, School of Management, Institute of Engineering, Academy of Fine Arts, Conservatory of Music, Teana Film and Television Art, Minority Preparatory School, Department of Ideological and Political Theory, Ministry of Sports, etc., offering 62 majors.
