In order to reflect the actual situation of discipline construction and meet the needs of future development, the School of Public Administration of Guangxi University was established on the basis of the former School of Social Science and Management of Guangxi University in September 2005. The first major of the School of Public Administration was the undergraduate major of philosophy established by 1977, and then two majors (administration and public relations) were established. 1999 newly established tourism management major (including public * * * career management direction), and newly established office * * * career management major in 2002. In 2005, in order to meet the needs of discipline adjustment in the school, the tourism management major was placed under the business school. In 2006, a new undergraduate major in social work was established. At present, the college has three departments of philosophy, public administration, sociology and social work, namely MPA Education Center, China-ASEAN Research Center for Social Organization and Public Administration, Guangxi University Rural Development Research Center, Science and Technology Philosophy Research Institute and Social Development Research Institute. There are three undergraduate majors in philosophy (management philosophy), public enterprise management and social work, two first-class master's programs in public administration and philosophy, two master's programs in sociology, master's degree authorization program in public administration (MPA) and two doctoral programs in public economics.
