Guangxi University was founded in 1928, and its first president was Dr. Ma, a "grandmaster" who was known as the "Northern Cai South Ma" in education. 1939 was renamed as National Guangxi University in Guilin, Zhu Kezhen, Li Siguang and Chen Wangdao.
