Jinchuan Campus of Inner Mongolia University of Technology, formerly known as Electric Power College, was founded in 1994. The former Institute of Electric Power is an ordinary electric power university jointly established by Inner Mongolia University of Technology and Inner Mongolia Electric Power Company with the approval of the State Education Commission in June 5438+1October 65438+May of that year. On June 5438+1October 65438+February, 2005, under the auspices of the People's Government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, the Institute of Electric Power was substantially merged into Inner Mongolia University of Technology. At the same time, Inner Mongolia University of Technology established Jinchuan Campus.

Jinchuan Campus is located in Jinchuan Industrial Park, Hohhot Economic and Technological Development Zone, covering an area of 1 1,000 mu with a building area of over 200,000 square meters. At present, there are some students from Electric Power College, International Business School, Information Engineering College, Foreign Languages College, Humanities College, Light Industry Textile College, six residential college, Mining College, Science College and Management College, and the number of full-time students has reached 10000.

Over the years, Inner Mongolia University of Technology has continuously increased its investment, strived to improve the conditions for running schools and strengthened the construction of teaching infrastructure. Jinchuan Campus has newly built public teaching buildings, experimental buildings and Shaw Library with complete functions and advanced facilities, transformed standard gymnasiums and other cultural and sports venues, and newly built student dormitories and student canteens to optimize and beautify the campus environment.
