The Teacher is a novel by British writer Charlotte Brontexq, the first of five novels written in her life. This work is based on the author's own experience.

Creation background

The teacher wrote 1846. At this time, Charlotte's writing became more and more mature. She put her own experience, her own observation and understanding of life into this work.

Charlotte is the eldest daughter of the family, and the poverty in her family forced her to work hard for her family's livelihood too early. 1835, 19 years old, she left home to teach at luhede school. It is really painful for Charlotte to leave her familiar and warm home.

However, in order to support herself and pay for her family expenses without her old father, she left home twice and became a governess, which was equivalent to a slave at that time, instead of waiting for marriage at home like other women. In order to organize a study pillow, she crossed the ocean and went to Brussels to enrich her knowledge. The main plot in Teacher comes from the author's experience.
