Highway and urban road engineering
Training objectives:
This major trains senior engineers and technicians in the survey, planning, design, construction, management and research of highways, urban roads and general bridges.
Business direction and scope:
Students in this major mainly study the knowledge of structural design, construction and management of highway and urban road engineering. Students are required to have the following knowledge and abilities: (1) Systematically master the basic theoretical knowledge of natural science and technical science required by this major. (2) Have certain professional knowledge and relevant knowledge of engineering technology, technical economy and project management. (3) Have the necessary skills of measurement, drawing, testing, experiment, computer application and some basic technical operation skills. (4) Have strong self-study ability and certain ability to analyze and solve practical problems. (5) Feasibility study and basic training of survey and design for highways, urban roads and ordinary bridges. (6) Have the viewpoint of engineering economy, and have received preliminary training in construction management, maintenance and scientific research methods.
Main courses of study:
Theoretical mechanics, material mechanics, structural mechanics, hydraulics, surveying, soil mechanics and soil mechanics, structural design principles, road building materials, highway survey and design principles, subgrade and pavement engineering, bridge engineering, urban road design, road CAD technology and foundation engineering.
Employment direction:
Can be engaged in the investigation, design, construction, supervision, management and scientific research of this major in the transportation or urban construction departments, and can also be engaged in the teaching of this major in colleges and universities.
