The college entrance examination is a selective examination for qualified high school graduates or candidates with equivalent academic qualifications in People's Republic of China (PRC) (excluding Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Macao Special Administrative Region and Taiwan Province Province). Holders of Hong Kong identity cards can only take the Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan joint examinations, but cannot take the college entrance examination.
