Dalian Medical University, located in Dalian, Liaoning Province, is a medical university which focuses on medicine and develops disciplines such as literature, science, management and law. Selected into the national "Basic Capacity Building Project for Universities in the Midwest" and the national "Excellent Doctoral Education and Training Plan" pilot universities.
National "Characteristic Key Discipline Project" to build universities, national public graduate program to build high-level universities, China government scholarship receiving institutions for foreign students in China, the second batch of pilot universities for transformation and development in Liaoning Province, and key universities for first-class universities in Liaoning Province.
The school was founded in 1947, formerly known as Kanto Medical College. 1949 merged into Dalian University, called Dalian University Medical College. 1950 Dalian University was revoked and became Dalian Medical College independently. 1969 Dalian Medical College moved south to Zunyi City, Guizhou Province, and established Zunyi Medical College. 1978 reopened in Dalian, still known as Dalian Medical College. 1994 was renamed Dalian Medical University.
