As the school has just been established, it is formed by the merger of undergraduate colleges and higher vocational colleges. Everyone wants to know how many colleges there are in the school. The predecessor of the school, Yanshan College of Shandong University of Finance and Economics, is located in Shandong Province.

Shandong Vocational College is a national backbone vocational college, directly under the Education Department of Shandong Province, and the only vocational college with railway industry background in the province. The college, formerly known as Jinan Railway Bureau Intermediate Technical School, was founded in 195 1.
