Recent Situation of School of Architecture and Art of Central South University
The college has a complete range of disciplines, covering seven first-level disciplines such as engineering and art. It has five master's degree authorization points for first-level disciplines such as architecture, urban and rural planning, landscape architecture, art theory and design, and two master's degree authorization points for fine arts and MFA, and relies on the second-level doctoral program for civil engineering planning and management to recruit and train doctoral students. Architecture, urban and rural planning, art theory and design are the key disciplines at the school level, and fine arts is the key discipline at the school level, with 1 provincial key research base.

The college now offers five undergraduate majors: architecture, urban planning, industrial design, art design (including visual communication design, environmental art design and digital media design) and music performance (including instrumental performance, vocal performance and dance choreography). Architecture, urban and rural planning, industrial design, art design and other four undergraduate majors are key majors at the school level. Architecture, urban and rural planning successfully passed the national professional evaluation. There are more than 700 students 1.700, including more than 300 full-time undergraduates 1.300, more than 200 graduate students and more than 200 self-taught candidates. The college attaches great importance to the quality of talents and is committed to cultivating innovative architectural art elites with strong foundation and high quality. Students win many international and domestic awards every year. Over the past 20 years, the college has delivered nearly 5,000 outstanding professionals of all levels and types to the society.
