Hong Kong City World University ranks 53rd.

City University of Hong Kong (hereinafter referred to as City U) is a public research-oriented comprehensive university and one of the eight universities funded by the University Grants Committee. It is a member university of Silk Road University Alliance, Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao University Alliance, Guangdong-Hong Kong University Alliance, Beijing-Hong Kong University Alliance, China-Russia University of Engineering Alliance and Shanghai-Hong Kong University Alliance. The business school has been certified by AACSB and EQUIS, and the School of Energy and Environment has been certified by CIWEM and IGEM in the UK.

City University of Hong Kong, formerly known as City Polytechnic of Hong Kong, was established in Mong Kok, Kowloon, 1984. On 1995, it was renamed as City University of Hong Kong and moved to Kowloon Tong, the current campus. 1997 Kowloon Bay Branch was established in the former Wellington Middle School to provide associate degree and higher diploma courses.

200 1 Shenzhen Research Institute of City University of Hong Kong was established in the Mainland. 20 13 Chengdu research institute of the city university of hong kong was established, with Suzhou research institute, Shenzhen research institute and Chengdu research institute in the mainland. In 2022, the City University of Hong Kong (Dongguan) approved the establishment, located in Songshan Lake Science City, and it is expected to start enrolling students in 2023.

City University of Hong Kong ranked 5th in the academic ranking of China in 20 19, public administration and management ranked 14 and 16 respectively, computer science ranked 32nd, communication and finance ranked 5 1-75 and 44th respectively, and materials science ranked first in Hong Kong.
