Innovation ability: in 2002, it became the first batch of national key disciplines of pediatrics, one of the four national excellent courses of pediatrics, the second national teaching team of pediatrics, the laboratory jointly established by the Ministry of Education, and the municipal key laboratory of Chongqing Science and Technology Commission. Children's Hospital has a talent echelon with reasonable educational background, age, professional title and educational background structure. There are 57 professors, 43 associate professors/kloc-0, and 22 doctoral supervisors in the hospital, and a number of national leading high-tech clinical technologies have been developed. The existing discipline talent team has strong scientific and technological innovation ability.

Main research directions: According to the characteristics of diseases in Chongqing and the western region and the changing trend of disease spectrum, this discipline has formed six stable main research directions: children's clinical immunity, children's nervous system diseases, children's tumors and blood, children's nutrition and growth and development, children's critical illness emergency medicine, children's developmental abnormalities and congenital malformations. Children's clinical immunity, children's nutrition and growth and development, children's respiratory diseases, children's developmental abnormalities and congenital malformations were approved as key medical disciplines in Chongqing. Scientific research is at the leading level in the field of pediatrics in China.
