Our college 1993 started the specialty of communication engineering, and now it belongs to the Department of Communication Engineering. On the other hand, for a long time, the financial, commercial, public security, military and government departments have great demand for information security talents. At present, there is a serious shortage of information security talents. Therefore, the School of Computer and Communication Engineering of Southwest Jiaotong University, on the basis of the construction of the master's degree in cryptography in Southwest Jiaotong University, has set up an undergraduate major in information security to train senior technical personnel in information security.

Information security is a comprehensive subject, involving information theory, computer science, communication and cryptography. Its main task is to study the protection methods of computer systems and communication networks and the information they carry, so as to realize the security, confidentiality, authenticity, integrity and availability of information in the system. In 2005, according to the Three-year Plan for Laboratory Work of Southwest Jiaotong University, the School of Information Science and Technology optimized its allocation and resources, and jointly applied for the construction of "Modern Communication Network and Information Security Experimental Platform" with the majors of communication engineering, network engineering and information security, which became the first batch of professional 323 laboratory construction projects, and was supported by special funds from the Ministry of Education in 2006. The automatic control laboratory, the predecessor of the comprehensive automation experimental center of the School of Information Science and Technology of Southwest Jiaotong University, was established in 1978. It is one of the laboratories with a long history in our college and is engaged in the experimental teaching of automation technology courses. Thanks to the efforts of teachers and experimenters in the department of automation for many years, especially in recent years, with the key support and construction of special funds from the school and relying on a solid national key discipline-traffic information engineering and control, the comprehensive automation experimental center has been fully developed in terms of experimental environment, equipment scale and operating mechanism. It has formed the characteristics of experimental teaching featuring railway automation and combining experimental teaching with scientific research.

The comprehensive automation experiment center is located in Xipu campus of the school, with a construction area of about 600 square meters and fixed assets of nearly 3 million yuan. There are more than 0/50 sets of experimental equipment/KLOC-,including more than 20 sets of self-made and supervised teaching equipment and experimental devices. The laboratory of the Department of Software Engineering is based on the microcomputer laboratory of the School of Computer and Communication Engineering. The laboratory has set up a basic experimental environment for software application, PASCAL language, C language, C++, web page design and SQL SERVER database. It can provide the experimental environment of Matlab mathematical science and technology application software, EDA electronic automation software and System view communication simulation software at any time.

The goal of laboratory construction is: to establish a basic experimental environment for software application that adapts to the development of computer science and technology; Establish a professional experimental environment suitable for the training objectives of software engineering specialty. This environment supports multimedia experimental teaching, network software development and software engineering training, engineering practice projects and graduation design, and forms a practice base of software engineering specialty with certain characteristics.

The laboratory of the Department of Software Engineering is rich in basic software experiment resources, and has a perfect laboratory opening mechanism, which is open 7 days a week to provide high-quality experimental services. Information security laboratory was established in 2005 with the first batch of professional 323 laboratory construction projects, and was supported by the Ministry of Education in 2006. In recent years, with the efforts of Professor He, director of the Chinese Cryptography Society, and a large number of teachers, relying on a doctoral program in information security, two master programs in cryptography and information security, and an undergraduate program in information security, the information security professional laboratory has been gradually developed and put into use in the fall semester of 2007.

As a teaching laboratory for undergraduate majors, Information Security Laboratory mainly offers comprehensive experimental courses for information security, network engineering, computer, communication engineering and software engineering, and undertakes supporting experiments for professional theoretical courses such as cryptography, authentication theory and application, computer network security technology, e-commerce security and information system security engineering. The main equipment includes network information security teaching experiment system, fingerprint collector, smart card reader, data password card and so on. The information security laboratory is characterized by strong professionalism, focusing on cultivating students' interest and ability, and striving to build a professional laboratory with excellent experimental environment, high level of teachers and the latest development direction of disciplines. With the gradual popularization of computer network applications, there is an increasing demand for network talents in society. In order to meet the needs of society, cultivate urgently needed talents with distinctive professional characteristics and improve the employment rate of graduates, the school began to set up the direction of network engineering in 2000, and set up the network engineering specialty in 2002 to start enrolling students.

In the teaching plan of network engineering specialty, computer network is a compulsory course for eight majors (including professional direction) in the whole hospital, such as network engineering. Network engineering and design is a compulsory course for network engineering majors. Computer network security technology is a compulsory course for network engineering and information security majors. Network programming technology is a limited elective course for network engineering, software engineering and information security majors. Computer network (comprehensive) experiment is a compulsory course for network engineering, computer science and technology, information security, software engineering, traffic information control, automation and other majors, and a limited course for communication engineering majors. In order to adapt to the development of disciplines and strengthen the training of practical teaching, a computer network laboratory was established in 2002 with the efforts of schools and colleges.

At the beginning of laboratory construction, colleges and universities invested more than 300,000 yuan to purchase a batch of network experimental equipment. Although the equipment models are relatively complete, but the number is small, most experimental students will not operate by themselves, mainly used for teachers to explain and demonstrate. But it is through the application of these devices and the efforts of several teachers that we have successfully explored the construction scheme of network computer room, gradually formed a perfect computer network experiment outline, published many high-quality teaching reform papers and carried out many experimental teaching reform projects. In 2005, "Network Engineering Technology and Experiment" was published by Tsinghua University Publishing House, and was selected as the national textbook of the 11th Five-Year Plan for general higher education. The construction of software environment in the laboratory has made gratifying achievements.

In 2006, in order to integrate resources and seek development, the College merged, < Network Engineering Laboratory > and < Information Security Laboratory > into the Modern Communication Network and Information Security Experimental Center. With the support of "National Education Fund Special Repair and Purchase" project, "323" project of the school and "Computer Brand Specialty Construction" project, the school and college invested10.5 million yuan to purchase computer network comprehensive experimental equipment, and built a fully functional 10Gigabit IPv6 computer network laboratory. The number and types of experimental equipment can basically complete all experimental projects related to network specialty. The hardware condition of network laboratory is also in the advanced ranks of domestic universities. With the rapid development of microelectronics industry, the demand for talents in microelectronics industry is increasing, and talents for integrated circuit design are scarce. In order to adapt to the development of disciplines and cultivate high-quality microelectronics professionals, the Institute of Information Science and Technology set up a microelectronics professional laboratory in 2006 1 month to undertake the tasks of course experiment, production practice, course design and graduation design of microelectronics and related majors in the whole school.

The laboratory is located in X6404, with an area of about 65m2. The hardware platform consists of three SUN workstations (two Blade2000, 1 Ultra45), 1 IBM server and 26 PC design terminals. Large-scale IC design software of well-known companies such as Cadence, Synopsys and Mentor Graphic can be run on it, and 28 people can design or simulate and verify the circuit at the same time.
