In 2009, the first China Mathematics Competition (CMC) was held.

As a national high-level discipline competition for undergraduates, CMC provides a stage for young students to display their basic mathematical skills and mathematical thinking, and accumulates research materials for discovering and selecting outstanding mathematical talents and further promoting the reform and development of mathematics curriculum construction in colleges and universities. Sponsored by the Chinese Mathematical Society, it is also a good relay of the national high school mathematics competition in colleges and universities.

There are preliminary competitions (with provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions as divisions, and military academies as independent divisions) and final prizes in the Chinese college mathematics competition. The preliminaries were awarded according to mathematics majors and non-mathematics majors, and the first to third prizes were set up, and the certificate of "National College Students' Mathematics Competition (Grade 1, 2 and 3)" was issued uniformly;

The final grade will be awarded according to the absolute score, and the certificate of "Final Grade Award of National College Students' Mathematics Competition" will be awarded. The winning certificates of the preliminary and final competitions are stamped with the official seal of "chinese mathematical society Popularization Working Committee".
