Since the Southern Song Dynasty, Lei An has been compiling Volume 18 of "A Tai Pu Deng Lu".
The original text is: In the same month in Qian Shan, every household is in spring. Rivers are thousands of miles away, and there are clouds in Wan Li.
In the same month in Qian Shan, every family is in spring. There is water in thousands of rivers, and the moon in the sky will naturally be reflected. There are no clouds in Wan Li, and the sky in Wan Li is naturally exposed.
This is a very high Buddhist proverb.
The moon is like Buddha's nature, and thousands of rivers are like sentient beings. No matter how big or small the river is, where there is water, there is the moon. No matter how high or low people are, there are always people who have Buddha nature. Buddha's nature is in people's hearts and everywhere; Like the moon shining on the river, everything is reflected. Any sentient beings, as long as they have the heart to learn Buddhism, will have Buddha nature. Any river, as long as there is water, will have a bright moon.
There are clouds in the sky, and the sky is above them. As long as the sky in Wan Li is cloudless in Wan Li, the sky in Wan Li is blue. Heaven can be regarded as Buddha's heart, and clouds are troubled by material desires. When troubles and material desires are exhausted, the nature of Buddha's heart naturally appears.
