Hunan University, a secondary college affiliated to Hunan University, has become one of the important bases for training financial statistics professionals in China.
1946, Hunan University established a business school. 1979, Hunan University of Finance and Economics resumed, and opened the Finance Department and Statistics Department. In 2000, Hunan University merged with Hunan University of Finance and Economics to form Finance College. In 2005, based on the Bureau of Statistics, the Institute of Statistics was established. 20 10 February, the former School of Finance and Statistics merged to form the School of Finance and Statistics of Hunan University.

In 2000, the former Hunan University merged with the Hunan Institute of Finance and Economics directly under the People's Bank of China, merged with the departments of finance, insurance and international economics of the former Hunan Institute of Finance and Economics, and established the finance department of Hunan University with the related professional teaching and research section of the former Hunan International Business School, and established the statistics department on the basis of the information statistics department of the former Hunan Institute of Finance and Economics.
