1in July, 872, 12-year-old Zhan Tianyou, as the first batch of official students from China to study in the United States, finished primary and secondary schools in the United States, and was admitted to the prestigious Yale University with excellent results. He studied civil engineering and railway engineering at Yale University, and returned to China with honors in 188 1, when he was only 20 years old.
