Ningbo University, referred to as Ningda for short, is located in the north area of Ningbo Higher Education Park, Zhejiang Province. It is the first batch of key construction universities in Zhejiang Province jointly established by China people, Ministry of Education, Zhejiang Province, State Oceanic Administration and Ningbo City. 1986 was founded by Mr. Bao Yugang, the world shipping king, and the name of the school was inscribed by Comrade Deng Xiaoping. At the beginning of the school, it was aided by five proofreaders from Zhejiang University, Fudan University, China University of Science and Technology, Peking University and former Hangzhou University. 1996, the former Ningbo University, Ningbo Normal University and Ningbo Branch of Zhejiang Fisheries College merged to form a new Ningbo University.
