985 University refers to the first selected university in the plan of "Building a World-class University" initiated by the Ministry of Education 1998. At present, there are 39 985 colleges and universities in China, including Tsinghua University, Peking University, Fudan University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Zhejiang University, China University of Science and Technology, Nanjing University, Xi Jiaotong University and Harbin Institute of Technology. Nanchang University is not included in this list.
Nanchang University has three campuses, namely Qianhu Campus, Qingshan Lake Campus and Fuzhou Campus. The school has 12 colleges and 5 directly affiliated departments, providing undergraduate and postgraduate education, as well as a number of double degrees and exchange programs.
