North China University of Science and Technology is a university. North China University of Science and Technology is a national first-class university which focuses on engineering and medicine, with the coordinated development of science, economics, management, literature, law, art and teaching, and is supported by the provincial level. The school is a university jointly established by the People's Government of Hebei Province, state administration of work safety, the People's Government of Hebei Province and the National Bureau of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense.

At present, there are 94 undergraduate majors, postdoctoral research stations 1 one, 3 first-class disciplines authorized by doctoral degree, 25 first-class disciplines authorized by master degree, and 3 professional degree authorization categories1three. Metallurgical engineering is a world-class construction discipline, while mining engineering and public health and preventive medicine are national first-class construction disciplines.

There are 10 national specialties, 18 key disciplines determined by national ministries, 17 national ministries and provincial science and technology innovation platforms, 1 Hebei technology transfer demonstration institutions, 3 provincial collaborative innovation centers, 37 municipal science and technology innovation platforms and provincial science and technology innovation voucher innovation service providers. There are the Training Base of Mine Medical Rescue Center of the State Administration of Work Safety, Hebei Intellectual Property Training Base, Hebei Trauma Research Institute, "Hungarian Research Center" approved by the Ministry of Education, and Hebei Urban-Rural Integration Development Research Base.
