The National Central University was split up because it was the most powerful university in the previous dynasty, and many universities had the blood of the National Central University. During the period of 1952, after the adjustment of national departments, National Central University gave birth to nine universities in Jiangsu Province, namely Nanjing University, Southeast University, Nanjing Normal University, Hohai University, Nanjing Agricultural University, Nanjing Forestry University, Nanjing University of Technology, Jiangnan University and Jiangsu University.
In 2002, nine universities celebrated the centenary of the former National Central University, and the Jiangsu Provincial Government specially presented nine universities with a picture of "A Hundred Years of Jiuding" as a souvenir ("All the nine universities come down in one continuous line, and all the nine schools celebrate together"), which means that nine schools in Jiangsu Province come down in one continuous line.
Nowadays, universities are too impetuous to pursue a false reputation, and the National Central University has long since disappeared. Take Nanjing University as an example. Now he goes back to two schools, Central University and Jinling University.
