School of Mathematical Sciences was founded in 1997, which was formed by the merger of the former Department of Mathematics of Nankai University and Nankai Institute of Mathematics. The Department of Mathematics of Nankai University was founded in 1920 by Mr. Jiang Lifu, and has trained a large number of outstanding talents for the development of modern mathematics in China for decades. For example, Mr. Chen Shengshen, a famous mathematician and educator, Professor Jiang Zehan and Professor Wu Daren graduated from Nankai Mathematics Department in their early years. After liberation, the mathematics department of Nankai University has made great progress, and some specialties urgently needed by the country have been newly established, such as computer software, automatic control, information science, probability statistics and so on. 65438-0985 Computer Software and Automatic Control were separated from the Department of Mathematics, and the Department of Computer and System Science was established. 1986 the state education commission approved the establishment of mathematics pilot classes in mathematics majors. This class recruits 30-35 students from the winners of the national high school mathematics competition every year. Those who have achieved excellent results upon graduation may be admitted to the master's degree without examination. 1993, this class was approved by the state education commission as the national basic scientific research and teaching talent training base. 1996 Nankai university entered the first batch of key construction units of the "2 1 1" project. Our hospital is listed as one of the four semi-key project units of Nankai University "2 1 1".
