In the tense pace of globalization, China is rapidly connecting with the international community, and both government agencies and enterprises are facing unprecedented pressure or competition. Service science and engineering is a new interdisciplinary subject which combines IT technology, communication network technology and other disciplines. Its purpose is not only to improve the operating efficiency of an institution or organization and reduce the operating cost, but also to promote the business process reengineering of traditional enterprises with information technology and further improve the competitiveness of enterprises. Embedded Systems Department was established in June 2002, with Professor Liu Xiang as the head of the department. There are 12 full-time and part-time teachers, including 5 professors and 5 visiting professors. The training scheme and curriculum system of this department pay attention to ability training and industry practice, and introduce the international advanced embedded system engineering knowledge system. The establishment of this department provides a training plan for people who are interested in embedded system research and development to continuously improve their personal abilities, so as to obtain sustainable personal development opportunities. The aim is to improve the international competitiveness of embedded system industry in China through the combination of talent training and Industry-University-Research.
After more than five years' development, the department has established a faculty with both academic background and rich industrial research experience, and established an effective embedded system engineering course system, focusing on cultivating students' engineering practice ability, teamwork and innovation spirit, customer communication ability and self-learning and improvement ability. Through courses, experiments, industrial practice and advanced technology lectures, students can master the basic knowledge of embedded systems, especially the theory and technology of embedded software engineering and various development, debugging and testing tools, and have the ability to research and develop embedded system software, middleware and application software, embedded terminals and digital home products. The department plans to recruit 8TBL_0 graduate students every year. At present, there are more than 2,000 graduate students in the department, and more than 70 graduate students have graduated. Most of them have joined famous IT companies, such as Intel, Motorola, Huawei and Founder. There are also some students who continue to pursue doctoral degrees in famous universities at home and abroad, and a number of graduates who have successfully started their own businesses have emerged. In recent years, with the rapid development of network communication technology and Internet application technology, a network communication industry consisting of network equipment providers, network operators, network value-added service providers, Internet service providers, network content service providers and network application developers is taking shape. In this huge industry, the urgently needed talents are talents with both professional knowledge background and software development skills.
In view of the urgent demand for software talents in the network and communication industry, Peking University Institute of Software and Microelectronics established the Department of Network and Communication Technology in June 2002. After five years of development, the department has established a faculty with both academic background and industry experience. Taking advantage of Peking University's resources, the department has set up internet software development, communication software and system, network system management and application, communication and applied electronics, etc. in view of the demand for network software talents in China's network and communication industry. The rapid development of digital art design technology and industry has brought many problems to visual art design circles at home and abroad. The most prominent thing is that although there are hardware and software, there is a lack of talents who can understand, master and skillfully use these resources for plastic arts design. From this point of view, it has become an urgent task for the digital art design industry to cultivate and bring up talents who understand not only the rules of art design, but also computer graphic art design and can develop corresponding operating software, application software and post-production software.
Therefore, Peking University Institute of Software and Microelectronics, relying on Peking University, the highest institution in China, cooperated with China Foundation for International Talent Exchange and Canadian Meiya Education Center, combined with their advantages in teaching, capital, industry and teachers, and adopted a brand-new management system and operation policy to establish the Department of Digital Art and Design.
The Department of Digital Art Design of Peking University University of Soft and Micro is committed to cultivating senior digital art designers with artistic knowledge and technical knowledge, which can meet the needs of professional digital technology companies, TV stations, film studios, press and publication, online media, advertising production, computer games, software development, environmental art, real estate, universities and research institutions, and enable students not only to master digital technology and media technology, but also to have the ability of rational thinking and artistic integration.

However, the serious shortage of compound talents who are proficient in both information technology and financial business knowledge has greatly hindered the progress of China's financial informatization process. Therefore, the development of financial information engineering is an important basis for strengthening the informatization construction of China's modern financial system. Facing the market demand, relying on the rich economic discipline and advanced computer discipline resources of Peking University, we have organized a number of excellent scientific research teams and teaching teams. At the same time, with the strong support of Citibank, Peking University Institute of Software and Microelectronics took the lead in establishing the Department of Financial Information Engineering in China in 2006. The Department of Financial Information Engineering is committed to cultivating high-level, practical and compound financial information engineering talents needed by the modern financial system.
The Department carries out teaching and scientific research activities around "Financial Information Engineering", and trains compound talents who have knowledge of both computer technology and financial business, master the theory, methods and skills of financial information system analysis, design and implementation, and can engage in the research and development and management of financial information systems in financial application software developers, financial information system providers and IT departments of financial institutions such as banks, securities and insurance. The Department of Language and Information Engineering was initiated by Academician Yang Fuqing and jointly established by Peking University Institute of Software and Microelectronics and Peking University Institute of Computational Language. At present, the proposed majors are: language information processing and computer-aided translation, which recruit students majoring in science and engineering and foreign languages respectively.
The research content of language information processing is the automatic information processing technology of natural language, that is, the discovery, extraction, storage, processing and transmission of information components in human language activities Specific application fields include machine translation, document retrieval, information extraction, natural language man-machine interface and so on. These technologies have also been applied to artificial intelligence and language teaching, and promoted the development of these disciplines.
Computer-aided translation will cultivate students' ability to skillfully use bilingualism as a communication tool, strengthen their professional skills as translators, and make them proficient in the principles and application technologies of machine-aided translation and related natural language processing technologies. The application and popularization of e-government, e-commerce and enterprise information technology have greatly accelerated the informatization process of all walks of life, but the information security problems that follow have become increasingly prominent. Since its establishment in 2002, the College has set up a major in information security, and has trained a number of information security management software engineering masters and professional technicians. In August 2006, under the vigorous advocacy of Academician Yang Fuqing, the Department of Information Security was formally established in response to the opinions of the Ministry of Education on strengthening the construction of doctoral and master programs in information security and meeting the urgent needs of the state, industries and fields for multi-level senior talents in information security management, technology and consulting services.
The Department of Information Security aims to give full play to the advantages of Peking University's brand, talents and resources, meet the needs of the country, industry and field, and cultivate professional and multi-level senior talents in information security management, technology and consulting services. After 3-5 years' efforts, an important education and training base and service base for cultivating "high-level, practical and compound" information security high-level talents has been built in China.
The establishment, discipline construction and personnel training plan of the Information Security Department have been fully supported by the Information Security Laboratory of Peking University.
