Who is the founder of Fudan University?
The founder of Fudan University is Ma. 1902, Ma gave everything he had, borrowed the remaining house of the Catholic Xujiahui Observatory as a school building, and founded Aurora College. 1905, Yu Youren, et al. 130 students angrily left Sinian and supported Ma to resume his studies in Wusong. 1905 September 14 (August 16th of the lunar calendar), Fudan College, the first private institution of higher learning in China, officially opened in Wusong.

Development status of Fudan University

Fudan University ranks 40th in the QS World University Ranking and 3rd among domestic universities. In terms of academic influence, Fudan University entered the world of ESI with 19 1%, ranking second (tied) among universities in Chinese mainland, among which chemistry, materials science, clinical medicine, pharmacology and toxicology entered the world with 1‰.

In the QS world discipline ranking, 29 disciplines in Fudan University rank among the top 100 in the world, ranking third in China in total. All five disciplines are in the top of the world 100, and there are only two universities in Chinese mainland.

In the World Discipline Ranking of American News, four disciplines rank among the top 50 in the world, and in the World Discipline Ranking of Times Higher Education, 1 discipline ranks among the top 50 in the world. In the fourth round of national-level discipline evaluation, five disciplines got A+, and more than 60% of the participating disciplines got Class A disciplines. In addition, 14 discipline was selected as the peak discipline construction in Shanghai.
