Li Shizeng, a scholar from Hebei Province, went to France to study with Sun Baoqi, the Qing government's envoy to France, in 1902. Since then, he has been committed to promoting exchanges and cooperation between China, France and even China and Europe. 1908, he founded a soybean processing factory in Garna Columbi village, a suburb of Paris, France, which provided jobs for more than 30 French people. Later, he opened a school near the factory to let these young people study while working. This is my first attempt to study in China. During the Revolution of 1911, Li Shizeng returned to China. In order to "lose the world civilization to China", in 19 12, he and Cai Yuanpei, the first director of education of the Republic of China, and other people of insight set up the "Society for Studying in France" in Beijing, so that more students and young people could study in France at low cost. 19 16, Li Shizeng, Cai Yuanpei and other French educators launched the "China-France Education Association" in Paris, and established the South China University of Technology School in Paris to provide vocational training and cultural education for Chinese workers in France. 19 17 years, Li Shizeng and Cai Yuanpei successively established the Sino-French Education Society and the Work-study Society in France to encourage, guide and subsidize young people with aspirations to work and study in France. This movement has received a positive response from most young people. It is particularly worth mentioning that young Mao Zedong, together with Cai Hesen and other comrades of Xinmin Society, actively organized young people from Hunan to work and study in France. He also tried his best to raise travel expenses for Hunan youth who went to France, and got great help from Zhang. This has also become a much-told story in China's modern history.
