Southwest University, located in Chongqing, is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC), co-founded with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and Chongqing.

It ranks among the national "double-first-class", "21engineering", "985 engineering advantage discipline innovation platform" and "double-first-class" member universities of the Agricultural Federation.

Exemption: According to students' previous study or experience (often the students' achievements in special examinations), students are allowed to be exempted from some courses that are generally necessary for obtaining undergraduate degrees.

In the teaching of the academic year, students who fail some courses have achieved good results or above, and may be exempted from taking courses upon approval.
