Hengyang Library Association is an academic organization formed voluntarily by various libraries and information institutions in Hengyang. It is the first municipal library association established in Hunan Province. It is under the leadership of Hengyang Civil Affairs Bureau, Hengyang Federation of Social Sciences and the professional guidance of Hunan Library Association.

Around the Republic of China 14 (1925), the provincial Nanyue Library, Hengyang Library, Chuanshan University of Arts and Sciences Library and Yue Yun Middle School Library in Hengyang once joined the China Library Association as group members. After the founding of People's Republic of China (PRC), in August 1957, the preparatory committee of Hengyang Branch of Hunan Library Workers Association was established under the leadership of Chuanshan Library of Hengyang City. The branch was formally established at a meeting in June of 1 1, and was later terminated due to the "anti-rightist" movement.

Hengyang Library Society was prepared on 1985 and formally established on 1986 on March 20, with the site of Hengyang Library. The second to fourth member congresses were held in 1990, 1995 and 2000 respectively, and the "Big Five" was held on February 23rd, 2005. A new leadership team was elected through the new constitution and self-discipline regulations. 1989 has 40 group members, and currently there are 27, of which 14 is the executive director unit. The chairman's office meeting, executive director meeting and board meeting are held twice a year.

At present, Hengyang Library Society has 20 group members. Organize theoretical seminars with the provincial society every year, organize local member units to participate in various academic and social activities, and publish Hengyang Library Work as an internal exchange publication of the society. Since its establishment, the Society has achieved many academic achievements and social benefits, and made great contributions to the prosperity and progress of Hengyang Library.

Yin Haiqing was the first director of Hengyang Library Society. The previous directors were Yang Nenghua (1992), Zou Jiakuan (1996), Mao Lihua (2000) and Liu Zhongping (2004). The current curator is Liu Zhongping, director of Hengyang Library, the deputy curator is South China University Library, Hengyang Teachers College Library, Hunan Institute of Technology Library, Hengyang Children's Library, Hengyang County Library, Hunan Environmental Biology Vocational and Technical College Library, and the secretary-general is Ding Min. 1March 20, 986

From 2000 to 2008, * * * received more than 490 papers, and awarded 35 first prizes, 82 second prizes and 0/06 third prizes. Since 2000, members have published more than 9,000 papers in professional journals of libraries, and 920 papers have won prizes in the papers of library society of china and Hunan Library Society. Peng's article "University Libraries Should Make Contributions to Building a Learning Society" was published in Guangming Daily, while Zeng Deliang's article "Research on Time Division and Expression in the Fourth Edition" won the first prize of the eighth academic achievement of Hunan Library Society, and the positioning of municipal public libraries in the construction of public cultural service system and Shen's "Analysis of the reasons for non-public welfare factors of public libraries" won the first prize of the 2008 academic annual meeting in library society of china.

Since 2004, Hengyang Library Work has been published quarterly, and Selected Papers of Hengyang Library Science have been published twice in 1989 and 1992.

From the end of July to the beginning of August, 2006, library society of china and the Provincial Library Society jointly organized the first volunteer action-librarian training. Chen Li, deputy director of the National Library, Fan Bingsi, a professor at East China Normal University, and other first-class experts in the industry gave lectures, and more than 0/00 librarians in the province gave lectures.
