Shenzhen University is located at No.3688 Nanhai Avenue, Nanshan District, Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province. 1983 was established with the approval of the State Council. The school is a comprehensive university, from undergraduate to master and then to doctoral education.

1995 passed the first batch of national undergraduate teaching qualification assessment, 1996 was approved by the State Council Academic Degrees Committee to become a master's degree awarding unit. 1997 implements the college system, and defines the school-running idea of giving priority to undergraduate education and actively developing postgraduate education. In 2000, the school-running goal of changing from simple teaching to teaching and scientific research was established. In 2005, it was approved to become an authorized unit of master of engineering, and two new fields of master of engineering training were added.
