Yanbian University, referred to as Yanda for short, is located in Yanji City, the capital of Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture, Jilin Province, which has the reputation of "hometown of education". It is one of the earliest universities established by China * * * Production Party in minority areas. The school is a comprehensive university with certain national characteristics. 1964 July 12, Chairman Zhu De wrote the name of the school in his own hand during the inspection.

The school was founded on 1949. Since its establishment, the school has been cordially cared by the party and the state.
