Graduate students from Land and Resources College, Material Metallurgy College, Mechanical College, Physics College and Environment College are all in the Lotus Campus. Other graduate students have moved from Xinying Campus to Chenggong Campus.

Lotus School is located in downtown Kunming, covering an area of 680 mu, where the original school headquarters was located. The International Academic Exchange Center of Kunming University of Science and Technology, the National Engineering Laboratory of Vacuum Metallurgy and some colleges remain in the Lotus Campus.

Chenggong Campus is located in Chenggong University Town, Kunming, with beautiful environment and complete facilities. The campus covers an area of 3,200 mu, which is the main campus and the student community. Chenggong Campus has four dormitory parks: Yiyuan, Jingyuan, Tianyuan and Hengyuan.

Kunming University of Science and Technology was founded in 1954, renamed Kunming University of Science and Technology in 1995, and merged with Yunnan University of Technology in 1999 to form a new Kunming University of Science and Technology.

After more than 60 years of development, it has now developed into a comprehensive university with a combination of science and engineering, distinctive industry and regional characteristics, and coordinated development of economy, management, philosophy, law, literature, art, medicine, agriculture and education.

It is a university founded by the National Bureau of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense and the People's Government of Yunnan Province. It is also the largest key university in Yunnan province with complete levels and categories, and plays an important role in China's non-ferrous metal industry and regional economic and social development.

Xinying Campus is the location of City College, that is, higher vocational colleges and undergraduate courses. It is located in downtown Kunming, covering an area of 420 mu.
