Legal basis: Implementation Opinions of the State Council on Deepening the Reform of Examination Enrollment System 1. The general direction of this reform is to promote the fairness and science of talent selection. Over the past 30 years, China's examination enrollment system has been continuously improved and perfected, which is generally in line with China's national conditions, authoritative and fair, and has been recognized by the society. However, there are also some problems that are strongly reflected by the society, mainly because the score theory affects students' all-round development and students' lifelong study burden is too heavy. There is a gap between regional and urban-rural enrollment opportunities, and the phenomenon of choosing schools in primary and secondary schools is more prominent, and cheating and illegal enrollment often occur. Therefore, on the basis of maintaining the stability of the current examination enrollment system, this reform focuses on solving outstanding problems, adapting to the needs of economic and social development for diversified high-quality talents, better promoting the healthy development of students, better selecting all kinds of talents scientifically, and better safeguarding social equity.
