How do we plan our time?

In fact, it is not difficult to plan the time. The difficulty lies in whether your execution can be easily completed. To put it bluntly, you have made your own time plan, but there is no execution. So what is the significance of this time plan?

(1) The first step in planning time is psychology.

I think emotion is one of the most influential factors in execution. For a simple example, you are unhappy today. You don't want to do anything, let alone plan today's schedule. Then I guess the gods can't persuade you at this time. This is the basis that emotions will directly affect individual execution. Secondly, I think procrastination is also a very important factor. "Wait, I don't want to ..." These words come from your mouth, and I think this is procrastination. I really want to do it, but I always have no interest in doing it. This situation also belongs to procrastination. So what is the "cause" of procrastination? I think the most fundamental thing is that my willpower is not enough. Now is a time of peace, and the idea of being prepared for danger in times of peace is forgotten by more and more people, which leads to a person's unstable willpower. Or have no goal in mind, can't see the future and other factors will lead to the degradation of willpower.

Based on the above situation, I want to share my methods to solve psychological problems. I used to be a person with slow execution, weak willpower and big mood swings, so I feel that my own personal experience and solutions have a say. First of all, I am emotional. I used to have a bad temper and was criticized by many people. I didn't realize the importance of things until more and more people isolated me. So I tried to change. I first learned to empty my mind and imagine a blank sheet of paper in my mind. After a while, my heart rate dropped. But this method treats the symptoms rather than the root cause, so my friend recommended me to listen to books. When I heard an American writer named "The Art of Giving up", I realized that all my own anguish and unhappiness came from my own persistence. Persistence is a double-edged sword. When I stick to it reasonably, there will be unexpected gains. But when you are too persistent, it hurts you a lot. I also come to the conclusion that sometimes giving up is a better choice. Of course, I like this book very much and I want to recommend it to my friends.

The second is willpower. I read a book called Super Self-control. The first chapter of this book is about willpower. In other words, if a person has no willpower, then he has no self-control, let alone execution. How to exercise willpower? First of all, give yourself a practical goal. Actual goals are divided into short-term goals, medium-term goals and long-term goals. Short-term goals can be as short as tomorrow's goals, such as what I want to accomplish tomorrow, and the short-term goals you set must be achieved. The medium-term goal can be one week, one month and so on. The long term can be one year or several years. Note: the actual goal is not a lofty goal. Eat three meals tomorrow, finish your thesis this week, and achieve financial freedom in the next three years, all of which can be your goals. In short, have a goal that matches your current strength. Secondly, you can take part in some sports, such as long-distance running, playing basketball, fitness and so on, and then set yourself a goal that can be achieved but is a bit difficult. If I exercise, I will set myself a goal: aerobic exercise for 50 minutes, anaerobic events 15 times, ***7 groups. When you feel that your physical function has reached the so-called limit, you will have a breakthrough. At the same time, it will also make your mind stronger.

(2) Planning time classification.

Know how to prioritize. I usually divide events into four levels: important and urgent, important and not urgent, urgent but not important, not important and not urgent. I will put the usual, unimportant and urgent things at the end. I will finish important and urgent things as soon as possible, such as class. It doesn't matter whether it's important or not, it doesn't matter whether it's urgent or not. I will solve it reasonably according to the actual situation. In this way, we have basically completed the planning time.

(3) Give yourself fault-tolerant time

What is fault-tolerant time? For example, the article should be finished by noon today, but it has passed 12 and the article has not been finished yet. Then the time for me to finish writing after 12 is fault-tolerant time. Fault-tolerant time needs to be inserted between usually set events. Because some things you plan are unpredictable and uncertain, at this time we need fault-tolerant time to make up for our mistakes. So what if the event you are dealing with takes up all the fault-tolerant time or cannot be completed? My solution to myself is to deal with it according to the level of the incident. I will continue to complete important emergencies. If it's not so urgent, I'll put it aside and go on to finish the next event. Then when I make tomorrow's schedule before going to bed, I will learn from today's experience and make comprehensive arrangements. Then if something is completed on time or ahead of schedule, isn't this fault-tolerant time wasted? The answer is no, if you finish it on time or ahead of schedule, the fault-tolerant time you set at the beginning can advance your plan for one day. In other words, we can give more time for later events, so as to reduce the risk that things cannot be completed as planned if the time is exceeded. Note: Don't turn fault-tolerant time into event time.

3. Always put completion first.

Nowadays, many people's style of doing things is to improve while doing. But in fact, completing one thing is always more important than perfection. Because if there is no degree of completion, even perfection is futile. A friend around me is always thinking about how to do it well, but he often fails to do it well. Why? Because he neglected that the premise of doing well is to finish things. After finishing one thing, there are still remaining events that can be done well. For example, it is a common phenomenon that you buy a new book and always learn some words at first, so after a week, you often haven't finished reading the book. And will you go to see it because you have other things to do? Statistics show that many people will not go to see it. Why is this? Because a person's contact with non-contact trading will be fresh, and you were excited when you did it. And this excitement won't last forever, and you will slowly fade away until you forget it. This is the novelty. If a person does something without novelty and excitement, it must be difficult to do it.
