Huoditang Teaching Experimental Forest Farm of Northwest A&F University was established in 1958, which is the main teaching experimental practice base of our school and also an important scientific research base. Located in ningshan county on the southern slope of Qinling Mountains, it is located on the northern edge of subtropical zone, with the north latitude of 33 25'-33 29', the east diameter of108 25'-108 30', the east-west length of about 7 kilometers, the north-south width of about 6 kilometers, the annual average temperature of 4-9℃ and the annual precipitation of 900-. Sunshine hours1100-1300h, annual accumulated temperature of 2200-3 100℃, frost-free period of about 178d. There are rich plant species, including 524 woody plants belonging to 83 families and 206 genera. The total coverage of existing forests is 93. 8%. The farm is adjacent to Huoditang Forest Farm of Ningdong Forestry Bureau in the east, south and west, connected to Dongyuhe Management Zone of Ningdong Forestry Bureau in the north and Xunyangba Forest Farm of Ningdong Forestry Bureau in the northeast, with a total area of 2,037 hectares.
