Central South University, located in Changsha, Hunan Province, is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education and the Central Government of People's Republic of China (PRC). It ranks among the national "Class A World-class University Construction Universities", "985 Project" and "21/project". Selected as the national "20 1 1 plan" key university, the first batch of five universities in China to carry out eight-year medical education (joint study of bachelor's degree and doctor's degree), the first university in China to train the master's degree of integration of finger technology for active military officers, the top ten universities in China, and an important member of the China-Central Asia University Alliance and the Sino-Russian Jiaotong University Alliance.
Central South University was formed in 2000 by the merger of the former Central South University of Technology, Changsha Railway Institute and Hunan Medical University. It can be traced back to Hunan Higher Institute of Technology founded by 1903 and Xiangya Medical College founded by 19 14. It is a comprehensive research university focusing on engineering and medicine, covering science, literature, law, economics, management, philosophy, education, history, art and radiation military science.
