The predecessor of the school was four junior colleges. 1977 after the resumption of the college entrance examination, these four colleges began to recruit their own junior college students. 1993 the former administrative office of Hulunbeier league approved the merger of four schools to form Hulunbeier university, 1997 the former state education commission approved the merger of four schools to form the junior college level of Hulunbeier college.
